To support its continued growth, InfraCo Asia is actively seeking applicants for a Compliance Officer role, based in Singapore. As part of the Executive Management Team, the Compliance Officer will help to contribute to InfraCo Asia’s mission, which is to catalyse the private sector investments needed to bridge the infrastructure gap in Asia’s emerging markets.

Position Summary

The Compliance Officer will play a key role in the Legal and Compliance team, supporting the Compliance Manager in the formulation and delivery of strategies, policies and processes to identify risks and achieve
compliance with InfraCo Asia’s legal and regulatory obligations.

Reporting to the Compliance Manager and working alongside the rest of Legal and Compliance team, the Compliance Officer is also expected to work closely with PIDG Compliance, InfraCo Asia business teams (Business Development, Investment Management, Finance, HSES, etc.) and InfraCo Asia projects to help develop and maintain compliance frameworks, compliance monitoring and training programme, as well as other related policies and procedures. This role will also assist with corporate governance and managing financial crime and data protection risks of the business.

 

Requirements and Attributes

  • Bachelor’s degree and above preferred, or strong hands-on experience;
  • 4 to 6 years of demonstrated commercial project experience and experience in legal and compliance training or background is a strong plus. Willingness to work in a team environment, to learn, contribute inputs and a passion for improving the business is paramount;
  • Strong knowledge of Singapore, UK (and international) regulatory landscape applicable to financial crime and compliance function;
  • Regional experience in South Asia and/or South East Asia developing compliance frameworks and programmes from ground-up and exposure to emerging markets’ risk and compliance issues would be a strong plus;
  • Exposure to and working knowledge in ISO 37001 certification process would be an added advantage;
  • Experience in managing project related onboarding/review, KYC/AML and other due diligence requirements would be a plus;
  • Ability and willingness to work collaboratively with the EMT, take on responsibility and initiative to problem solve, improve processes and identify areas/risks for early-stage attention, mitigation and resolution from a compliance and reporting perspective;
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to interact with, gain credibility and respect of all internal and external stakeholders;
  • Proactive, patient and meticulous with a strong sense of responsibility and teamwork;
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English and ability to communicate with persons and parties across cultures and borders;
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint;
  • Strong appreciation and passion for PIDG and InfraCo Asia’s mandate with a strong work ethic and desire to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment essential.
