In an op-ed for fDi Intelligence, Sinenhlanhla (Sine) Zulu, Investment Specialist at The Private Infrastructure Development Group company, Emerging Africa Infrastructure Fund, advocates for gender-smart approaches to infrastructure design and urban planning.

Sine writes that “Developers, engineers and operators across the continent must adopt a more responsive approach to infrastructure design that meets the needs of society, particularly women and girls” as Africa faces an annual infrastructure investment gap of over $108bn and its population reaches 2.5 billion by 2050.
